Server Modpack Overview

A guide to the major gameplay mods on the server (284 mods total — this covers the ones that shape how the game plays; libraries, performance patches, and cosmetic-only mods are skipped).

Tech & Automation

  • Create — the pack’s flagship tech mod. Build machines from rotating shafts, cogs, belts, and water wheels: automated farms, trains, factories, and contraptions that move. Several addons extend it: Create Crafts & Additions (electric motors, bridging into electricity), Create Enchantment Industry (automated enchanting/disenchanting), Create: Slice & Dice (food automation), and Create: Interiors (furniture-style blocks).
  • Mekanism (+ Generators, Additions, Tools, Weapons) — the high-tech counterpart: ore quintupling, energy networks, digital miners, jetpacks, and endgame machinery. Where Create is mechanical and hands-on, Mekanism is wires-and-GUIs industrial.
  • Building Gadgets 2 — handheld tools that place, copy, and paste large structures quickly.

Magic & Progression

  • Iron’s Spells ‘n Spellbooks — the main magic system: learnable spells across elemental schools, spellbooks, mana, and wizard gear. Addons tie its spells into the pack’s boss mods (Cataclysm: Spellbooks, Ice and Fire: Spellbooks).
  • Apotheosis (+ Apotheotic Additions, Apothic Attributes/Curios/Materials) — deep overhaul of enchanting and loot: affix items (Diablo-style random stats), gems to socket into gear, enchantments beyond vanilla caps, and reworked bosses/spawners. Most “why does this sword have six purple stats” moments come from here.
  • Relics (+ More Relics) — collectible trinkets with unique active/passive abilities that level up as you use them.
  • Artifacts (+ More Artifacts, Grim’s Artifacts, Celestial Artifacts) — rare treasure items found in world loot (night-vision goggles, wall-climbing gloves, etc.), worn in trinket slots.
  • Curios & Accessories — the trinket-slot systems (rings, belts, charms) that the artifact/relic mods plug into.

Bosses, Dungeons & Combat

  • L_Ender’s Cataclysm — the pack’s hardest content: elaborate dungeons (Cursed Pyramid, Sunken City, Cataclysm fortresses) guarded by cinematic bosses with unique drops.
  • Ice and Fire — dragons: fire and ice dragons nesting in the world, dragon-slaying, taming, and dragon-forged gear, plus other mythical beasts (sea serpents, hydras, cyclopes).
  • Mowzie’s Mobs — hand-animated minibosses and creatures (Ferrous Wroughtnaut, Umvuthi, Frostmaw) with boss-fight mechanics and trophy drops.
  • Alex’s Mobs — ~90 real-and-fantastical animals from elephants to void worms, many with useful drops or tames.
  • Alex’s Caves — five massive hidden cave biomes (bioluminescent depths, primordial dinosaur caves, toxic wasteland, candy cavern, abyssal chasm), each practically a dimension with its own mobs, blocks, and tech.
  • Born in Chaos — a horde of new undead and nightmare mobs that make nights significantly more dangerous.
  • Deeper and Darker — extends the Deep Dark: the Otherside dimension beyond ancient cities, warden-themed gear.
  • The Graveyard — spooky structures (graveyards, crypts, haunted houses) with their own undead.
  • Enderman Overhaul / Creeper Overhaul — biome-specific variants of both mobs with new behaviors.
  • YUNG’s Better suite (Caves, Dungeons, Mineshafts, Strongholds, Nether Fortresses, Witch Huts, End Island) — vanilla structures rebuilt into far larger, more interesting versions.
  • When Dungeons Arise (+ Seven Seas) & Dungeon Crawl — huge explorable megastructures: sky castles, pirate fleets, sprawling multi-level dungeons.
  • Lootr — every loot chest is per-player, so dungeon loot isn’t gone because a friend got there first.
  • Spartan Weaponry & Spartan Shields (+ toolkit and compat addons) — dozens of new weapon classes (halberds, rapiers, javelins, crossbow variants) with reach/speed tradeoffs, in every material including modded ones.
  • Upgraded/Additional Trims + Trim Effects — armor trims grant actual gameplay effects, making smithing templates worth hunting.

World Generation & Environment

  • Biomes O’ Plenty and Oh The Biomes We’ve Gone — two large biome mods adding ~100 new overworld/nether biomes between them.
  • Dynamic Trees (+ compat addons for BOP, Croptopia, Pam’s, Quark) — trees grow branch by branch from saplings into natural shapes and fall when chopped; replaces the vanilla insta-tree.
  • Serene Seasons (+ Plus/Extended) — a real seasonal cycle: crops only grow in season, leaves change color, winter snow creeps south. Pairs with the farming mods to force crop planning.
  • Enhanced Celestials — lunar events: blood moons (mob swarms), harvest moons, blue moons, each changing that night’s rules. Chaos Moon adds more chaotic variants.
  • ChoiceTheorem’s Overhauled Villages, More Villagers, Guard Villagers — villages rebuilt per-biome and much larger, new villager professions, and armed guards that defend them.
  • The Bumblezone — a bee-themed dimension entered by throwing an enderpearl at a beehive.
  • Better Archeology — expands brushing/digging with new dig sites and artifacts.
  • Immersive Weathering — blocks age, moss spreads, leaves pile — the world slowly changes on its own.
  • Better Days / Hourglass — day/night length control (nights pass faster when everyone sleeps).

Farming & Food

  • Farmer’s Delight — the cooking backbone: cutting boards, skillets, cooking pots, and meal buffs. A dozen addons extend it into every corner of the pack (Chef’s Delight, Farmer’s Respite (tea), Ocean’s Delight, Alex’s Delight, L_Ender’s Delight, Aquaculture Delight, Croptopia Delight, and more) — most mob and biome mods feed into the kitchen.
  • Croptopia (+ Additions) and Pam’s HarvestCraft 2 (crops, trees, food core/extended) — hundreds of new crops, fruit trees, and dishes between them.
  • Aquaculture 2 — fishing overhaul: ~30 real fish per biome category, upgradable rods, tackle boxes, and fishing loot.
  • Let’s Do series: Vinery, Bakery, Meadow, Farm & Charm — themed culinary professions: winemaking, baking, alpine dairy farming, and general homestead cooking.
  • Cooking for Blockheads — an auto-sourcing kitchen: a cooking book that shows what you can make from what’s in your connected kitchen blocks.
  • XP From Harvest Reworked — harvesting crops grants XP, making farmer a viable playstyle.

Storage, Travel & Quality of Life

  • Sophisticated Backpacks & Sophisticated Storage — upgradable backpacks and chests (auto-pickup, magnets, filters, stack upgrades) — the pack’s main inventory solution.
  • Waystones — teleport network: activate waystones found in villages/dungeons (or craft your own) and warp between them.
  • Xaero’s Minimap & World Map — the mapping suite; server-synced so waypoints and map data behave consistently.
  • Tombstone — death creates a grave holding your items, with a scroll to teleport back to it. No more item despawn panic.
  • Quark (+ Zeta) — ~150 small vanilla-plus features: chest sorting, item pipes, new building blocks, mob tweaks — the “should have been in vanilla” mod.
  • Supplementaries — functional decor: ropes, pulleys, jars, signs, timber frames, weather vanes, and dozens of small interactive blocks.
  • Carry On — pick up and carry chests, spawners (config-dependent), and small mobs with empty hands.
  • JEI / Jade / AppleSkin — recipe lookup, block/mob info overlay, and food-value tooltips.
  • Clumps — merges XP orbs (also a performance saver).
  • Mob Grinding Utils — purpose-built mob farm blocks (fans, mob mashers, XP taps).
  • Torchmaster — mega torches that block hostile spawns in a radius, for protecting builds.
  • Nature’s Compass / Explorer’s Compass — search-and-point tools for locating specific biomes and structures.
  • Disenchanting Table / Uncrafting Table — recover enchantments from gear and break items back into materials.
  • Corail Spawners & Portable Mobs — interactable spawners and mob transport.
  • Pehkui — entity size-scaling engine used by several mods’ effects.

Building & Decoration

  • Macaw’s suite (doors, windows, fences, furniture, lights, paths, paintings, roofs, stairs, trapdoors + biome-wood compat) — the definitive building-detail collection, in every wood type including modded ones.
  • Chipped — 11,000+ decorative variants of vanilla blocks via the mason workbenches.
  • Handcrafted / Refurbished Furniture / Cozy Home / Beautify / MOA Decor sets — furniture and room decoration in many styles.
  • Fairy Lights — hangable string lights, lanterns, and pennants.

Backbone (invisible but load-bearing)

Not gameplay, but worth knowing they exist: Packet Fixer (lets a pack this size connect at all), ModernFix + FerriteCore (memory/startup optimization), and ~60 library mods (Citadel, GeckoLib, Balm, Bookshelf, Puzzles Lib, etc.) that the mods above depend on.

Removed from the pack: Nutritional Balance (server performance), XL Packets (obsolete), duplicate Bakery 1.1.15. See SETUP.md for the player installation checklist.
